Naomi Brotherton, SWS, NWO, TWS, WFWS
A veteran of almost 50 one-artist exhibitions and group shows as well as an award winner in competitive shows, Naomi Brotherton began her career as a commercial artist, but was studying watercolor painting with nationally known instructors across the country. When she discovered that she could teach, she phased out the commercial art to pursue a teaching career.
Focusing on flower painting and landscapes, she has become known for her night scenes which have been published in art magazines. A book, “Variations in Watercolor,” based on her work was published in 1981 by North Light Publishers and was sold through their book club. This opened opportunities to teach workshops across the country and in Bermuda. Active as a founding member and past president of Southwestern Watercolor Society, she has been honored with life membership. As one of the original partners in Artisan’s Studio/Gallery, Dallas, TX she has taught there for 27 years.
