Scott Young
Scott Young's formative years were spent "dabbling" in various art forms such as sketching, painting, pottery, jewelry, and graphic design. In the early 1990's, Scott attended various classes in stained glass and utilized this medium as his creative outlet. In 2001, Scott decided to expand to other areas of glass and attended various courses in glass tile mosaics.
In 2003, Scott attended a class for "torchwork/lampwork" and discovered the artistic medium of hot glass and started "Young Designs". In December of 2004, Scott became an apprentice at Vetro Art Glass in Grapevine Texas learning the art of off-hand glassblowing.
In September of 2005, Scott became a full time glassblower and the shop foreman at Vetro. In March of 2008, Scott built his own studio where he continues to expand his knowledge with regard to hot glass and shares his passion of the medium with others by teaching both torch work and offhand glassblowing.
