Marilyn Eitzen Jones

EDUCATION:
Scholarship Student, Kansas City Art Institute
Bachelor of Fine Arts, University of Oklahoma
Master of Fine Arts, University of North Texas

An established professional artist and painting instructor, Marilyn’s experience includes animation art, design, commercial art, and corporate presentation graphics. Her work has been displayed in various solo and group shows and is included in numerous corporate and private collections. Marilyn is a consistent prize winner in competitions, juried and invitational exhibits that encompass several international computer graphics shows including the 1985 ACM SIGGRAPH Traveling Art Show shown in Japan and other countries. She was on the list of artists for Prix Arts Electronica 87 in Linz, Austria. A return to graduate school for a Master of Fine Arts degree received in 1986, culminated in the first exhibition of electronic and computer graphics ever held in the University of North Texas Gallery. She has combined a variety of multimedia techniques, sometimes using moving imagery and sound. Personal computers and various peripherals provide artistic tools, in addition to brushes and paint. Marilyn’s work combines traditional studio techniques with today’s technology to produce an eclectic collage of cherished images and mementos. The end results are very personal and unique works of art.
