Oil and Acrylic Painting

Linda Fleming Ortman is an abstract and figurative painter, who lives and works in Dallas, Texas. Her personal style, loose contemporary, lets the paint show the way. As the artist explains, “I love the way light and dark interact to make shapes.” As an abstract painter, she uses color and shape to serve as a reference to nature.

Ms. Ortman uses her natural inclination to express and explore in oil and acrylic. Using an intuitive approach, she explores the tangible and intangible; the emotional and spiritual.

The artist graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she received a degree in interior design. She studied oil painting under Jane Siebenthall in Grapevine, Texas. At Ghost Ranch, New Mexico, she also studied with nationally known plein air contemporary colorist painter Michelle Chrisman, from Albuquerque, New Mexico. The artist spent time in Cinque Terre and Tuscany, Italy, studying under watercolorist fine artist, Joan Fullerton from Denver, Colorado.
