I have always had a strong drive to express my creativity. I began studying art as a child and continued through college at the University of Texas-Austin and Texas Tech University, earning a minor in Fine Art. I love to experiment and explore with different techniques and media. My most recent adventure is with a reverse painting on glass technique called Verre Eglomise’ that dates back to the 14th century. However my approach is decidedly modern. I play with different non-traditional media and love to discover new and different effects. I also paint on canvas with more typical media, but often end up going “out of the box” with that as well.
My inspiration comes from elements in nature: Earth and sky, fire and water. When I am working, I feel no sense of time passing. Something mysterious and magical stirs within me and I become lost in the work. The piece seems to take on a life of it’s own.
I was born in the Texas panhandle and spent most of my childhood there. I now live and work in Dallas, Texas where I live with my husband and our two dogs.
